In Entangled (2011) I am interested in capturing the ‘invisible’ in the photographic portrait.
“ I make use of the new technologies in order to look inwards and reflect on a ‘full’ portrait of a human being, which includes our internal emotions, dreams and memories.”
Slices of Life (2010) New medical technologies such as MRI scans allow us to look inwards and capture the anatomy and interior experience that takes place with emotions, which cannot be captured by a photographic camera. The images of the brain in Slices of Life are based on Dr Simon Surguladze research at King’s College London. They show brain activity in response to signals of happiness and sadness. Slices of Life was the runner-up in the Brain Art Competition organised by the Neurobureau 2011.

From and To (2011) aims to find technical and expressive analogies between two different mediums: digital photography and medical imagery.

Crossed Words (2006) was made in collaboration with poet Francisco Pereiro with whom I worked on a number of visual poems. Crossed words represents a ruminating mind working hard to organise thoughts.
